Exterior Transformation Projects

Exterior transformation by the Best Build Team, Shrewton, Wiltshire

Long Overdue Facelift

With the interior fully refurbished it was time to transform the outside.

This property had various upgrades over its life, but the owners really wanted to give it kerb appeal and make it stand out on the road. With an impractical porch, old inefficient windows, a leaking roof and pebble dash render, this property was long overdue a full makeover.

The concept was created, and a new porch constructed on the existing footing, making it a quick, practical addiction. The extension on the front was clad in James Hardie soft green planks and trims. This was also installed above the garage door, replacing the old, dated cement tiles. The Dormer window was also given a facelift to match.

Rendered in pebble dash, this was re-rendered in a cement-based render and painted crisp white to give it a smooth flat finish.

The windows were replaced with white UPVC, and a composite front door was fitted in Anthracite Grey to make it stand out. The garage door was given a new lease of life with a prep and paint to match the front door.

The roof needed to be re-felted due to large holes. The decision was made to re-roof the property in a natural slate to give a modern look.

Exterior lighting was updated with the use of down lights above the front and French doors and up / down lights added to the front of the garage.

With the driveway, the team produced an affordable solution to the mismatched block paving, which was to remove the blocks, lay the ground stabilising membrane, install driveway support crates, and then cover in a local gravel. This both gives a uniform finish and helps with the natural drainage.

We are super happy with the result and have had great feedback from all the neighbours
