Full Renovation Required

Take a dated 3 bed House and give it a face lift.

With a tired, impractical kitchen lots of doors and low head room this property was due a full refurbishment. With only a shower room to the ground floor the plans were drawn up to install a family bathroom on the first floor. With new regulations regarding head heights, we changed the joist layouts around the stair area to give a much more practical head height. The stairs had a face lift with the old solid wall removed and white painted spindles installed to let more light flow into the hallway.

The shower room was replaced to match the new upstairs bathroom and a new combi boiler installed to cope with the new demand. Due to the properties age, we installed all new plumbing and electrics through out the property.

With old aluminium poor efficient and rotting window frames all new white UPVC windows were installed. The old unpractical porch was replaced with a modern extension with a grey Composite front door with side lights to let in even more light.

The kitchen was ripped out and the old doorway and windows to the side blocked up to create a more practical space. The space was opened further by removing the wall between the kitchen and the small dinning area. The kitchen was fitted with all built in appliances and finished off with white Corian work tops to give a seamless flow.

The difference to the property is amazing and more family friendly with the extra bathroom located upstairs
Home extension - A full-width extension space with lots of natural light by The Best Build Team, Salisbury, Wiltshire

Extension and Dormer Works

This was a small three-bedroom dormer bungalow but with a good-sized kitchen and lounge and a small conservatory being used as a dining area. With the plans in place, the team worked with the local Building Control team to deliver a full width extension and to replace the three small dormer windows for one large dormer. This created a new lounge / dining area, opened the bedrooms upstairs and created a fourth bedroom with its own ensuite shower room.

With only windows on the rear wall of the extension large roof lanterns were installed to fill the space with natural light. The exterior was rendered in a pre-mix render to give a modern look with the anthracite grey French doors and window. The existing patio and lawn were re-laid to match the new openings.

To accommodate the large dormer steel work was installed to support the new roof creating more head room and opening the rooms to give a better use of the space.

We removed the old redundant chimney up through the property to give more space to the fourth bedroom created in the lounge. With the extra space the ensuite was fitted to the corner and made the room super practical in this ever-changing world. The window was removed, and French doors fitted opening over a small decked area which enjoys the evening sun.

This property has now been rented to a lovely family who snapped it up on their first viewing and are loving enjoying the property as their home.
A lean-to space transformation in Amesbury by The Best Build Team

Transformation of a Lean-to into a Multi-use Space, Amesbury

The clients’ old lean-to had been leaking for 2 years and it was finally time to do something to fix it and make the most of this space. The owners chose us to help with a solution to their leaking, unusable space. They had a meeting with Nathan to discuss various options and costs, and the clients decided to transform the area into a valuable, additional space.

The makeover consisted of minor brick work on the external walls of the lean-to. It was agreed with Building Control that we would build an internal timber frame on the inside to create a new cavity. This new wall was fully insulated, plaster boarded and plastered to give the professional finish.

We also constructed a utility area and downstairs bathroom to provide further use for the multi-use space. The Best Build Team installed the plumbing and connected the washing machine, added newly fitted sliding doors which led to the stunning garden area and a brand-new door to provide easy access to the front driveway. In the new flat roof, we added a roof lantern to supply additional natural light into the space.

To finish the process off, the owners decorated the new, multi-use space, transforming it into a modern, living area.

The team really enjoyed working on this project and loved seeing the family enjoying the space
Extension by The Best Build Team

Rear Extension, Salisbury

A growing family who needed some more space to enjoy special moments together.

Our clients came to us with plans to extend their lovely bungalow in Salisbury. The plans showed the removal of an old inefficient lean-to conservatory and creation of a new single-story extension in its place. The architect designed the roof so that it could be extended over the new extension.

The original rear wall of the property was opened up with steel work to allow an open plan layout. A large bi-fold door was installed to bring in lots of natural light and open the new space on to the garden.

This is a family space to be enjoyed by all with room for dinning, working and lots of playing. The owners even added their own personal touch with decoration.

The Best Build Team finished this project to a high standard, leaving our clients very happy with their investment.
